Created by Dr. Christy Byrd, TIDE is a theoretical framework for teaching about topics related to social identities, equity and inequality, and diversity in all forms. We apply the latest theories of learning, motivation, social identity, and intergroup relations to develop best practices for workshops, organizations, and courses in higher education.
How and why does teaching about diversity lead to positive outcomes for college students? Our framework is based on decades of research in psychology and education plus to the experiences of facilitators and students.
We are building a library of activities that teachers and workshop leaders can use. Please submit your own! All entries in the library will be categorized according to characteristics of the activity and the TIDE framework.
